Carlos Herrera Cies

Carlos is an Electronics Hardware Engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace, defence, and R&D sectors. He has played a key role in developing end-to-end electronic board designs for critical, high-reliability systems. His expertise spans the complete hardware development cycle, from schematic capture and complex multilayer layout to advanced debugging, testing, and system integration. He specializes in handling high-speed controlled impedance layouts, mixed-signal interfaces, and dense multilayer boards featuring advanced microprocessors and power management systems. Carlos possesses a comprehensive understanding of strict industrial, aviation, and military standards, with a strong track record in overcoming compliance and signal integrity challenges in high-stakes projects, including communication satellite electronics and electric aviation vehicles. He joined TII in 2026 as a Hardware Engineer in the Quantum Communications group, where he develops electronic boards for diverse communication technologies.
