Dr. Thiago Maciel
Dr. Thiago O. Maciel holds a BSc, a MSc, and a Ph.D. in physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where he worked on Quantum Information problems such as quantum tomography, quantum phase transitions, and quantum correlations. He then spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, working on entanglement witnesses and causal inference using classical optimization. Afterwards, he spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, working on quantum algorithms for near-term quantum devices and classical machine learning. Lastly, he spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, working on quantum algorithms for fault-tolerant quantum computers. Dr. Thiago joined TII in 2023. His focus is now on quantum algorithms for fault-tolerant quantum computers and tensor-networks solvers for integro-differential equations.
