Dr. Rafael Casas

Dr Casas holds a PhD and MSc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. He also holds two B.Eng degrees in Materials and Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Sevilla and Cordoba, respectively. His primary research focus is on metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Powder Metallurgy (PM) technologies. As a researcher, he has been working in the PM field since 2014, as a PhD researcher in Madrid (UC3M-UPM-IMDEA materials) and as a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern University in the USA and Dublin City University in Ireland. Dr Casas has also worked for several years in the metal AM field at HP Inc. headquarters in Barcelona and AM technologies for precious metals in Geneva, Switzerland.
