Dr. Miji Joy
Dr. Miji Joy is a Senior Researcher at the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center (RSERC) at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), a cutting-edge UAE-based scientific research center. Her primary research focus area is on energy storage, especially in the field of organic redox flow batteries, lead acid batteries, as well as electrolyzers, and electrocatalysts.
Dr. Joy brings to her role more than five years of experience in analytical techniques (XRD, XPS, TGA, SEM) and electrochemical techniques (CV, EIS, Mott-Schottky analysis). She received international exposure during her PhD tenure, when she collaborated with the University of Southampton, UK as part of the Joint UK-India Clean Energy Centre (JUICE).
She has several publications to her credit, including “Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigation of organic redox reactions (p-benzoquinone/hydroquinone couple)-implications to organic redox flow batteries” that was published in the Journal of the Physical Chemistry C in 2021.
Dr. Miji Joy received her PhD from Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay, India, with a dissertation focused on large-scale energy storage technologies, especially redox flow batteries. She also holds an MTech in Energy and Environment from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, and a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Government Engineering College, Thrissur in Kerala, India.
