Dr. Kevin T. Geier

Senior Researcher

Dr. Geier earned his PhD in Physics in 2022, awarded as a double degree from Heidelberg University (Germany) and the University of Trento (Italy) within the framework of a binational doctorate (cotutelle de thèse). Before joining TII, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Pitaevskii Center on Bose–Einstein Condensation at the University of Trento from 2022 to 2024.

His area of expertise is theoretical and computational quantum many-body physics, with a focus on cold-atom systems. He developed novel measurement protocols for quantum devices, enabling, e.g., probing fluctuation–dissipation relations, and studied intensively the phenomenon of supersolidity in spin–orbit-coupled Bose gases. Within the BMBF-funded project “MAGIC App”, he also designed high-performance annealing protocols for quantum optimization with trapped ions.
