Dr. Juan Coronel

Dr Juan Coronel supports the research and development of advanced research capabilities in the domains of high-energy laser technologies and sensing systems.

Dr Coronel’s research interests include optical fibre sensors, microwave photonics and radio-over-fibre applications. Before joining TII, he served as head of the Electronics Engineering Department at the Catholic University of Colombia and Associate Professor at El Bosque University in Bogota, Colombia.

He received a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Colombia. In 2009, he joined the Telecommunications and High Frequency Electronics Research Group at the National University of Colombia. In 2017, he received a PhD in Photonics and Optoelectronics Systems from the Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace ISAE-Supaero (France), Department of Electronics, Photonics and Signals.
