Dr. Boulos Alfakes
Senior Researcher
Dr AlFakes received an MSc in Renewable Energy Science and Technology from École Polytechnique in France in 2015. His interest in clean energy resulted in his pursuit of a PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Masdar Institute/Khalifa University in the UAE, developed with assistance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. His research focused on investigating and enhancing the optoelectronic properties of 2D and 3D materials for utilisation in photovoltaic and water-splitting applications. Upon graduating, Dr AlFakes joined the Quantum Computation group at QRC in 2020 as Senior Researcher to handle the fabrication of superconducting quantum circuits in the on-site quantum foundry.
