Dr. Abdellatif Bouchalkha
Dr Abdellatif Bouchalkha works as Lead Laser/Optics Researcher in DERC. He has 27 years of rich teaching experience on various prestigious Educational Institutions in UAE and North Africa. His research expertise and interest spans around Optoelectronics, Photonics, Femtosecond Time Resolved Studies, Picosecond Raman, Nonlinear Optics, Integrated Optics, Semiconductors, Special Sensor Design and Applications, Industrial and Biomedical Instrumentation, Low Temperature Measurements, Studio physics and student-centered teaching, undergraduate research. He has authored many journals and publications and was instrumental in creating educational manuals for Universities in the field.
He also has Served as Department Chair in different universities for a total of 11 years, where he was engaged in the establishment of the physics curriculum and the department in two new universities. He has co-founded the successful Bachelor in applied physics on “Biomedical Instrumentation”. Chaired and participated in many committees (Curriculum, outreach, scheduling classes, research, teaching innovation, BS programme, Master programme, PhD programme).
He holds Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Physics (Optoelectronics), Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, USA. (May 1993) - Ph.D. Thesis: Picosecond and Subpicosecond Optical Properties of GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs Semiconductor Quantum Wells and Superlattices.
